                        What's New in the Galley?

In A Trade Wind Season, Melissa is a chef aboard a charter yacht. But you don't need a degree in culinary arts to bake the treat that helped her win Hunt's heart. This is Melissa's quick and easy recipe for the pecan filled brownies Hunt loves. Enjoy!

                    Melissa's Brownies

Mix together 2 squares (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted, 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine, and 1 teas. vanilla

Beat in 1 cup granulated sugar and 2 eggs

Stir in 3/4 cup flour, 1/2 teas. baking powder, 1/2 teas. salt

When mixed well, stir in 3/4 cup pecans

Spread mixture in a 8" square pan well greased with margarine. Bake at 350 degrees 30 to 35 minutes or until the top has a dull crust and your finger leaves a slight dent when the top is touched lightly near the center.

Cool on a rack, cut into squares, then serve to the one you love. Hopefully, your brownies will have the same effect as Melissa's!
